Projects: Design + Bid + Build

BIDDING FOR THE RIGHT TEAM

The Design-Bid-Build project delivery method is thought of as the traditional method by most people in the construction industry and related professions.

Although various alternatives to this traditional method have come into greater use in recent years, some for as long as 40 to 50 years or more (in the case of Design-Build), the traditional Design-Bid-Build method is still preferred by many owners. Many owner organizations, particularly in the public sector, continue to be oriented primarily to this method.

VA - Water Loop Replacement

The nearly 4,000 linear feet of 8" water line needed to replace the water distribution system at the Erie VA Medical Center will feed the entire campus. The system runs in a complete loop and has been tied into the city water supply at two points allowing Government to shut down any section of line without disrupting the water supply to any building.

This is a major water utility project that was completed in a congested area with many other existing utilities to cross including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, electrical, fire signal and gas.
